BOYS SOCCER PLACES SECOND IN TAPPS STATE FINALS

Boys Soccer Places Second in TAPPS State Finals
A huge congratulations to the boys soccer team for making it to the TAPPS State Division II Finals and placing second overall! The team played St. Joseph Academy-Brownsville on Friday, March 8 at Round Rock Multipurpose Center in front of a large crowd of St. Michael's students, faculty, and family supporters. While St. Joseph was a more physical team, St. Michael’s was visibly and statistically the better team for the majority of the game, finishing with 62% possession and 250 passes (68% completion) to only 90 passes for St. Joseph (36% completion), and more shots on goal. The team was unable to convert on its scoring opportunities and eventually fell short to St. Joseph with a 0-1 final score after conceding a goal in the 68th minute. All-tournament team selections were awarded to Ben Hoang (’24), Juan Pablo Resendiz (’24), Ben Brophy (’25), and Christopher Wheeler (’26).

Congratulations again to the team and coaches on a successful season!
