Congratulations to Hannah Bergfeld ('24), Gabi Spellings ('24), and Mora Mooney ('24) for being named to the 2023 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Awards Watch List. Heidi Bergfeld ('26) was also named to the 2023 AVCA Phenom Watch list.
In order to be nominated to the AVCA Watch List, the athlete must be an outstanding player on the court, be in their senior year of high school, and be nominated by their head coach who is also an AVCA member. This is a huge honor, as volleyball athletes from around the country are in the running to be selected. The senior athletes selected receive recognition for their play and are expected to be considered for AVCA All-American.
The Phenom Watch List nominees must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior and must have been recognized in some form for their volleyball abilities – all-region, all-state, etc. – and must also be nominated by their head coach who is also an AVCA member.
