JIAMPIETRO REPRESENTS SMCA OVER SEAS

Jiampietro Represents SMCA Over Seas
Alex Jiampietro (‘25) grew up with a competitive spirit and an exploration of sports, but it wasn't until 7th grade that she encountered the world of diving. Initially trying out swimming, her path transitioned to diving after a single introductory class, beginning her passion for the sport. She is a member of the Longhorn Aquatics Team and practices at the University of Texas facility.

During her first year on the team, Alex secured a spot in the Junior National Diving Championships.

The end of the year 2020 marked a milestone – during the Winter Junior Polish Nationals, Alex won three gold medals in the one-meter, three-meter, and platform competitions. In 2021 she became a member of the Junior Polish National Team. The same year Alex had a great performance in the USA where she was a finalist at Junior Nationals in the one-meter, three-meter springboard, and platform events and ranked 8th in the USA in her age group.

Continuing her international journey, she represented Poland in the 2022 Junior European Diving Championships in Romania, securing the 14th position in the one-meter springboard and ranked 9th in Europe in the platform event.

In 2023 Alex's determination for competition did not rest. In April she took home gold at the Regional Championships, scoring 403.50 points on platform. This resilience led her to secure a spot on the Polish team at the Junior European Championships in Croatia, where she placed 10th in Europe the platform event. Looking ahead, Alex's goals for the upcoming season revolve around maintaining her focus and striving for consistency, with the aspiration of qualifying for the Jr. Worlds next year.

Congratulations on these great achievements, we look forward to seeing what is in store next year!
