RECORDS BROKEN IN FIELD EVENTS

Records Broken in Field Events
The boys and girls track and field teams participated in the Wimberley Texan Relays on March 23, 2023. In addition to the individual running events, relay teams representing varsity boys, varsity girls, and JV boys participated in the 4x100M and 4x200M relays. The varsity boys placed 2nd and 4th, respectively, in their races.

The teams had success in the field events, as well, with JaHazniah Griffin ('23) – the reigning state champion in the shot put and discus – winning both the varsity boys shot put and discus events. Gabriel Estrada ('23) also recorded a first-place finish in the varsity boys 800M race.

In the recently concluded Texas Relays, JaHazniah Griffin ('23) broke his school record in the shot put, recording a personal best throw of 55’ 4 ¼” during the finals on Saturday. JaHazniah held the previous record of 54’ 0” which he set last year.
