The St. Michael's qualifiers for the TAPPS track and field regional meet continued their preparation this past week as they look towards improving on their performances from the District Meet and earn berths to the State Championships. Members of the boys and girls relay teams worked on baton exchanges with Coach Johns, while other athletes worked on individual parts of their races and/or field events under the guidance of the other coaches. Regionals is being held at the University of Texas at Arlington on Thursday, April 25th. The following athletes will be representing SMCA at Regionals.
Boys Regional Qualifiers:
William Talbot (’25) – 110M Hurdles; Andres Patino (’26) – 300M Hurdles; Ethan Dang (’25) – Long Jump; Max Pahlke (’24) – High Jump; Miller Bohnsack (‘25) – Shot Put; Justin Thar (’27) – Pole Vault; Cole Nguyen (’25) – Pole Vault; 4x200 Relay (Hodapp, Dang, Ogden, Kovacs, with alternates Patino, Cordova, Mack, Barkley); and 4x400 Relay (Hodapp, Ogden, Barkley, Dang, with alternates Patino, Queralt, Broxterman, Kovacs).
Girls Regional Qualifiers:
Lucy Lamy (‘26) – 1600M; Claire Lawler (’24) – 100M Hurdles, 300M Hurdles and Pole Vault; Ruthie Zboril (’27) – 100M Hurdles, Triple Jump, and Pole Vault; Kyra Lorenz (’25) – Long Jump; Mia Kropewnicki (’26) – High Jump and Discus; 4x100M relay (Nanez, Lorenz, Hernandez Olvera, Koberg, with alternates Nguyen, Zboril); 4x200 (Lorenz, Koberg, Kadenacy, Kalsu, with alternates Nanez, H Olvera, Nguyen); 4x400 (Lorenz, Koberg, Kadenacy, Kalsu, with alternates Lawler, Owen, Hillert, Lamy).
